سهم مصرف انرژیهای تجدیدپذیر شامل باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله از مجموع کل انرژی مصرفی تولید شده از منابع مختلف در جهان طی ده سال گذشته از ٠,٧٢ درصد به ٢.٤٥ درصد افزایش یافت.
  مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژیهای تجدیدپذیر باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله ( تبدیل براساس معادل حرارتی یک بشکه نفت خام و با فرض ٣٨درصد راندمان تبدیل در نیروگاههای حرارتی مدرن) از سال ٢٠٠٤ تا پایان ٢٠١٤ از ٧٥,٧ میلیون تن معادل نفت خام به ٣١٦.٩ میلیون تن افزایش یافته و ٤.٢ برابر شده است.
مجموع انرژی مصرفی تولیدشده در جهان از محل سوختهای فسیلی شامل نفت و گاز و زغالسنگ و همچنین انرژی هسته ای و هیدروالکتریک و انرژیهای تجدیدپذیر و زیستی از سال ٢٠٠٤ تا پایان ٢٠١٤ از ١٠٥٥٦,٥ میلیون تن معادل نفت خام به ١٢٩٢٨.٤ میلیون تن در روز افزایش یافته است.براین اساس، ملاحظه می شود، سهم مصرف انرژیهای تجدیدپذیر شامل باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله از مجموع کل انرژی مصرفی تولیدشده از منابع مختلف در جهان، از سال ٢٠٠٤ تا پایان ٢٠١٤ از ٠,٧٢ درصد به ٢.٤٥ درصد افزایش یافته است.
برابر آخرین آمارهای منتشر شده توسط BPT، از سال ٢٠٠٤ تا پایان ٢٠١٤، مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله در منطقه آمریکای شمالی از ٢٤ میلیون تن معادل نفت خام به ٧٣,٦ میلیون تن رسیده است. باوجود این افزایش، با توجه به رشد بیشتر تولید انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده وزباله در مناطق دیگر جهان، سهم این منطقه در مجموع کل مصرف انرژی تولید شده به روشهای مورد اشاره، در جهان از ٣١.٧ درصد به ٢٣.٢ درصد کاهش یافته است.
در همین دوره، مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله در منطقه آمریکای جنوبی و مرکزی از ٥,٩ میلیون تن معادل نفت خام به ٢١.٥ میلیون تن افزایش پیدا کرده است. هر چند همانند منطقه آمریکای شمالی شاهد هستیم که سهم این منطقه از ٧.٨ درصد به ٦.٨ درصد از مجموع مصرف انرژی تولیدشده در جهان از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله کاهش یافته است.
همچنین، با این وجودکه از سال ٢٠٠٤ تا پایان ٢٠١٤ مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله در منطقه اروپا و اورآسیا از ٣٠ میلیون تن معادل نفت خام به ١٢٤,٤ میلیون تن افزایش یافته است اما سهم این منطقه از ٣٩.٦ درصد به ٣٩.٢ درصد از مجموع مصرف انرژی تولیدشده در جهان از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله کاهش نشان می دهد.
جداول آماری منتشر شده توسط BP نشان می دهد که در دوره ده ساله مورد بررسی، برخلاف مناطق آمریکای شمالی، آمریکای جنوبی و مرکزی و منطقه اروپا و اور آسیا که با کاهش سهم در مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله روبرو بوده اند، در مناطق آسیا و اقیانوسیه، خاورمیانه و آفریقا با افزایش سهم روبرو هستیم. هر چند سهم خاورمیانه و آفریقا با سرمایه گذاریهای انجام شده در طی ده سال مورد بررسی به یک درصد افزایش نشان داده است.
بر این اساس، در مجموع کشورهای آسیا و اقیانوسیه مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله از ١٥,١ میلیون بشکه معادل نفت خام به ٩٤.٢ میلیون بشکه در روز افزایش نشان می دهد. سهم این منطقه از ١٩.٩ درصد به ٢٩.٧ درصد از مجموع مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله افزایش یافته است.مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله در خاورمیانه از سال ٢٠٠٤ تا پایان ٢٠١٤ از صفر به ٠,٣ میلیون تن معادل نفت خام افزایش نشان می دهد.در آفریقا نیز شاهد افزایش مصرف انرژی تولیدشده از طریق انرژی باد، زمین گرمایی، خورشیدی، زیست توده و زباله از ٠,٧ میلیون بشکه معادل نفت خام به ٢.٩ میلیون بشکه هستیم.

رییس انجمن مدیریت مصرف انرژی ایران گفت: با توجه به این‌که 30 درصد اوج مصرف برق کشور مربوط به وسائل سرمایشی است باید راهکارهایی در زمینه‌ی کنترل و مدیریت مصرف اینگونه وسایل اتخاذ شود.
سعید مهذب ترابی با بیان این‌که فناوری وسائل سرمایشی نسبت به 40 سال گذشته در دنیا پیشرفت بسیاری کرده است، اظهار کرد: در گذشته در مناطق گرمسیر ایران مانند یزد و بندرعباس از وسائل سرمایشی همچون بادگیر و پنکه‌های برقی استفاده می‌شد.وی ادامه داد: در حال حاضر کولر‌های گازی، برقی و چیلرها جایگزین وسائل سرمایشی سابق شده‌اند، اما مدیریت مصرف در این‌گونه وسائل وجود ندارد.
 رییس انجمن مدیریت مصرف انرژی با بیان این‌که این ارتقاء فناوری در تمام دنیا اتفاق افتاده است، گفت: توسعه فناوری وسایل سرمایشی به ویژه در 15 سال اخیر بسیار فراگیر شده اما نبود فرهنگ استفاده و ازدیاد وسایل غیر استاندارد نگران کننده است.به گفته مهذب‌ترابی، اصل استفاده از انرژی برق برای افزایش رفاه یک اصل پذیرفته شده و منطقی است، اما با آمدن کولر‌های گازی به ویژه در شش سال گذشته که اکثرا نیز غیراستاندارد هستند پیک روز نسبت به شب بسیار افزایش یافته است.
 وی با اشاره به وسائل سرمایشی غیراستاندارد که در حال حاضر در بازار فراگیر شده‌اند، گفت: استفاده از این گونه وسائل موجب ناکارایی انرژی می‌شود.رییس انجمن مدیریت مصرف انرژی ادامه داد: حدود 15 تا 20 میلیون کولر آبی در کشور وجود دارد؛ می‌توان گفت که کولرهایی که در رتبه غیر A هستند میزان مصرف آنها دو برابر بیشتر از وسائل سرمایشی با رتبه A است لذا باید مدیریت مصرف در این حوزه ارتقاء یابد.
 مهذب‌ترابی با بیان این‌که این مساله در مورد کولر‌های گازی نیز صدق می‌کند، گفت: متاسفانه در حال حاضر رتبه برخی کولر‌های گازی موجود در بازار نیز پایین است که این امر نیز باعث افزایش مصرف انرژی می‌شود.وی در پاسخ به این سوال که چطور می‌توان جلوی هدررفت انرژی را در وسایل سرمایشی گرفت، اظهار کرد: اولین مساله برای مقابله با این موضوع به روز‌رسانی تکنولوژی کشور است به‌طوری که باید تمامی وسائل و سیستم‌های سرمایشی در رتبه A تولید و از واردات و قاچاق محصولاتی غیر از رتبه A نیز با جدیت جلوگیری شود.
 رییس انجمن مدیریت مصرف انرژی یکی‌دیگر از راهکارهای مقابله با این مساله را منطقی‌شدن قیمت برق عنوان کرد و گفت: اگر قیمت برق منطقی شود مصرف‌کننده در هنگام خرید دقت لازم را دارد و همچنین تولید‌کننده نیز زمانی که کشش بازار را در وسائلی با رتبه A ببیند قطعا تولید به این سمت سوق پیدا می‌کند.ترابی با بیان این‌که آموزش و فرهنگ‌سازی عمومی در زمینه‌ی استفاده از تجهیزات مناسب لازم و ضروری است، اظهار کرد: اگر تمامی کولر‌های آبی که در پشت‌بام‌ها وجود دارد از یک سایه‌بان استفاده کنند قطعا 25 درصد مصرف انرژی کاهش پیدا می‌کند.
 وی اظهار کرد: اطلاع‌رسانی و فرهنگ‌سازی در این زمینه یک وظیفه‌ حکومتی است که باید این مساله کاملا جدی دیده شود.

محققان دانشگاه و یرجینیا، با همکاری محمد نو شاد، دانش ‌آموختۀ دانشگاه صنعتی شریف و دانشجوی پسادکترای دانشگاه هاروارد، الگوریتمی ارائه داده ‌اند که لامپ‌ های LED را قادر می‌ سازد با ابزار دیگر مجهز به لامپ‌ های LED به صورت بی ‌سیم ارتباط برقرار کنند
 با استفاده از این الگوریتم، چراغ ‌های راهنمایی LED خودروها می‌توانند ازطریق چراغ‌ های خودروهای جلویی، ارتباط برقرار کنند. هم­چنین یک نمایشگر LED در رادیوی ساعتی می‌تواند با استفاده از چراغ نشانگر قهوه‌ ساز به آن دستور روشن شدن بدهد و نور ابزارهای LED دار می ‌توانند سیگنال ‌ها به­ صورت بی ‌سیم به ابزار دیگر مخابره کنند.بنابراین گزارش: در این­جا می‌توان از جاری شدن داده‌ ها با سرعت 300 مگابایت در ثانیه از تمامی لامپ‌های LED موجود در مجاورت یک­ دیگر به­ عنوان نقاط دسترسی بی ‌سیم، بدون محدودکردن پهنای باند و بروز مشکلات معمول در شبکه‌ های بی‌سیم فرکانس رادیویی بهره برد. ضمناً با استفاده از شبکۀ جدید امکان مخابره ‌کردن داده‌ های بیش­تر بدون استفاده از برق زیاد وجود دارد.
برخلاف فرکانس رادیویی وای ‌فای معمولی، این سیستم را می‌توان در مکان‌هایی که امواج رادیویی ایجاد مشکل می‌کنند یا استفاده از آن‌ها ممنوع است (مانند تجهیزات پزشکی در بیمارستان)، به­ کار برد.این گزارش می ­افزاید: نوشاد در این زمینه می­گوید؛ ایدۀ این فن ­آوری مخابره کردن داده‌ ها با استفاده از سیستم‌های نوردهی است که پیش ‌تر برای روشن‌ کردن محیط‌ های خانگی به ­کار می ‌رفتند. این موفقیت راه­کاری از لحاظ صرفه ­جویی انرژی و فشرده برای ایجاد ارتباط شبکه ‌ای ایمن و پرسرعت برای تعداد بیش­تری از کاربران ایجاد می‌کند.

پارسا- عضو کميسيون انرژي مجلس با بيان اين که ايجاد زيرساخت ها و امکانات لازم براي بهره برداري از انرژي خورشيدي از جمله وظايف و تکاليف دولت است، گفت : مجلس آمادگي دارد هر قانون و مجوزي که دولت در اين زمينه نياز داشته باشد، تامين کند تا شرايط براي توسعه و استفاده از انرژي هاي نو مهيا شود.
 حسين نجابت افزود : برنامه پنجم توسعه تاکيد دارد سهم استفاده از انرژي هاي نو در مقايسه با ديگر انرژي ها در کشور بايد به بيش از 4 درصد برسد، براين اساس دولت بايد با اتخاذ راهکارهاي مناسب از جمله ايجاد زيرساخت ها و امکانات لازم براي بهره برداري از انرژي هاي تجديد پذيرمصرانه به دنبال تحقق اين هدف تعيين شده در برنامه پنجم باشد.وي با اشاره به برگزاري 2 جلسه در کميسيون انرژي مجلس درباره استفاده از انرژي هاي نو، تصريح کرد: در اين 2جلسه بر ضرورت استفاده هرچه بيشتر از انرژي هاي نو به ويژه انرژي خورشيدي تاکيد شده است ومجلس آمادگي دارد هر قانون و مجوزي که دولت در اين زمينه نياز داشته باشد، تامين کند تا شرايط براي استفاده از انرژي هاي نو مهيا شود.
نجابت در ادامه با اشاره به وجود 2 ايستگاه کوچک توليد برق از انرژي خورشيدي در کشور، گفت: هنوز به طور جدي وارد توليد برق از انرژي خورشيدي نشده ايم و در اين زمينه از واردات بهره مي گيريم.بايد امکانات لازم در کشور فراهم شود تا بخش خصوصي به راحتي وارد اين عرصه شود و برق مورد نياز را تامين کند.
عضو کميسيون انرژي مجلس چالش اصلي کشور در استفاده از انرژي خورشيدي را مقرون به صرفه نبودن آن دانست و تاکيد کرد: دولت بايد با مديريت صحيح و برنامه ريزي، توليد برق از انرژي خورشيدي را براي بخش خصوصي جذاب کند.وي با تاکيد بر اين که وجود ذخاير نفت و گاز مانع انديشيدن دولت ها به استفاده از ديگر منابع انرژي شده است، افزود: از آنجا که استفاده از انرژي خورشيدي در ديگر کشورها رواج دارد، در ايران نيز بايد به دنبال بهره گيري از اين منابع باشيم.نماينده مردم تهران در مجلس اختصاص تسهيلات به توليدکنندگان برق از سوي دولت را گامي مثبت ارزيابي کرد و گفت :دولت بايد تمام دستگاه هاي اجرايي را به سمت استفاده بيشتر از انرژي هاي نو هدايت کند.

عضو کمیسیون برنامه، بودجه و محاسبات فت: کشورهای اروپایی برای تنوع بخشی به منابع تامین انرژی خود نیازمند توسعه روابط با ایران به ویژه در زمینه انرژی هستند.غلامعلی جعفرزاده ایمن آبادی در خصوص سفر وزرای کشورهای اروپایی مانند ایتالیا به ایران اظهار کرد: در جریان تحریمها همان‌گونه که ایران با تنگناهایی مواجه شد کشورهای اروپاییی و غربی نیز با زیانهای روبرو شدند چون از منابع ایران محروم شدند.
 عضو کمیسیون برنامه، بودجه و محاسبات مجلس افزود: یکی از تبعات منفی تحریم نفتی ایران این بوده است که اروپاییها را از نظر امنیت انرژی تحت سلطه سایر عرضه کنندگان قرار داده و هم‌اکنون آن‌ها در تلاش برای عادی‌سازی روابط با ایران است.این نماینده مجلس نهم، مقاومت و تلاش ایران برای برون‌رفت از محدودیتهای تحریم را یادآور شد و گفت: با وجود تحریمها راهکارهایی برای کم اثر کردن آن در دستور کار قرار گرفت، اما در جریان تحریمها اروپاییها بیشتر دچار مشکل شدند و نتوانستند منابع موردنیاز خود را به دست آورند.عضو کمیسیون برنامه، بودجه و محاسبات افزود: نمی‌خواهم بگوییم ما به توسعه مناسبات با اروپاییها نیازمند نیستیم اما آن‌ها هم به اندازه ما و بلکه بیشتر نیازمند این موضوع هستند.
این نماینده مجلس نهم گفت: هر چیزی که منافع ملی ما را تأمین کند همان کار را انجام می‌دهیم.وی بابیان این‌که تحریمها از حافظه ایرانیها پاک نمی‌شود، افزود: سختی تحریمها با محدودیت اعمال‌شده در زمینه دارو، پزشکی و غذایی تشدید شد بنابراین آن‌ها یعنی اروپاییها باید جبران ظلمی که روا داشته اند را کنند.این نماینده مجلس نهم، توسعه مناسبات اقتصادی در حوزه سرمایه‌گذاری را در زمینه تولید مشترک و انتقال فناوری ممکن دانست و تأکید کرد: اروپا مانند گذشته به بازار ایران نگاه نکند زیرا ایران دیگر بازار مصرف نمی‌شود.

یکی از شرکت های تولیدکننده تلویزیون اخیرا تلویزیون‌های دوستدار محیط زیست را تولید کرده که بزودی وارد بازار ایران می‌شود. شرکت سامسونگ برای نخستین بار تلویزیون‌هایی را روانه بازار ایران کرده است که در ساخت آنها از عنصر سرطان زای کادمیوم استفاده نشده است؛ ماده‌ای که اتحادیه اروپا استفاده از آن را از سال 2018 به طور کلی ممنوع کرده است.
در ساخت این تلویزیون‌ها که با برچسب A++ انرژی اروپا عرضه شده از نانو کریستال و لامپ‌های LED بدون جیوه استفاده شده است. از سوی دیگر بهره‌گیری از حسگر زیست‌محیطی که نور پس‌زمینه را با توجه به نور محیطی تنظیم می‌کند موجب شده تا 35 درصد در مصرف برق صرفه‌جویی شود.سامسونگ نخستین «اعلامیه محیط‌زیست» خود را در سال 1992 منتشر کرد؛ پس از آن نیز در سال 1996 فلسفه مدیریت سبز خود را ارائه کرد که بر سه محور محیط‌زیست، ایمنی و سلامت استوار است. بر اساس گزارش اینتربند (Interbrand) سامسونگ الکترونیکس، در حال حاضر رتبه یازدهم را در ارزیابی جهانی سبزترین برندها در اختیار دارد.
این شرکت همچنین طی سال‌های 2008 تا 2013 انتشار گازهای گلخانه‌ای خود را به میزان 50 درصد کاهش داده است و در سال 2013 نیز با تغییر تکنولوژی خود توانست تا 4.6 درصد نسبت به سال قبل از آن مصرف آب را با اقداماتی از قبیل چرخش آب در فرآیند تولید کاهش دهد.
از سوی دیگر شرکت سامسونگ با هدفگذاری بازیافت 100 درصدی ضایعات خود توانست در سال 2014 حدود 92 درصد ضایعات تولیدش را بازیافت کند که این رقم برای سال جاری میلادی 95 درصد تعیین شده است. همچنین این شرکت برنامه بازپس‌گیری پسماند‌های الکترونیکی خود را نیز در بیش از 60 کشور دنیا به اجرا گذاشته است که دفتر ایران این شرکت نیز در صدد است طرح مشابهی را در کشور اجرایی نماید.

معاون وزیر نیرو در امور برق و انرژی از سرمایه گذاری آذربایجان در زمینه تولید انرژی‌های تجدیدپذیر در ایران خبر داد."اکیم بدل‌اف" رئیس آژانس ملی صنایع انرژی تجدیدپذیر و جایگزین جمهوری آذربایجان با هوشنگ فلاحتیان معاون وزیر نیرو در امور برق و انرژی، در تهران دیدار و گفت و گو کرد.
 فلاحتیان در این دیدار اظهار داشت: وزارت نیرو تصمیم دارد سالی یک هزار مگاوات انرژی تجدیدپذیر به شبکه‌های برق کشور اضافه کند.معاون وزیر نیرو در امور برق و انرژی از سرمایه گذاری آذربایجان در زمینه تولید انرژی‌های تجدیدپذیر در ایران خبر داد و گفت: با سرمایه‌گذاری جمهوری آذربایجان در زمینه تولید انرژی‌های تجدیدپذیر در ایران،‌ روابط برقی بین جمهوری اسلامی و جمهوری آذربایجان در بخش انرژی‌های تجدیدپذیر توسعه می‌یابد.وی افزود: به‌زودی موافقتنامه رسمی بین آژانس ملی صنایع انرژی تجدیدپذیر و جایگزین که مستقیما زیرنظر رئیس‌جمهور آذربایجان فعالیت دارد و وزارت نیرو امضا خواهد شد تا شرکت‌های آذری بتوانند به صورت رسمی در زمینه تولید انرژی‌های تجدیدپذیر در ایران سرمایه کنند.فلاحتیان تصریح کرد: شرکت‌های آذری در صورت تمایل می‌توانند با همکاری شرکت مپنا به فعالیت خود ادامه دهند.

احمدرضا توکلی اظهار داشت: مصرف برق بخش ساختمان ها مطابق با ترازنامه انرژی کشور افزون بر 47 درصد است که از این رقم حدود 31 درصد به بخش مسکونی، 9 درصد بخش اداری و هفت درصد در ساختمان های تجاری مصرف می شود که در مقایسه با بخش های دیگر مصرف کننده بخش صنعت، کشاورزی و غیره بیشترین مقدار را دارد.
وی ادامه داد: مطالعات نشان می دهد که در ساختمان های اداری تجهیزات سرمایش و تهویه حدود 35 درصد، روشنایی 25 درصد، ماشین های اداری 15 درصد و سایر حدود 20 درصد سهم دارند.توکلی تصریح کرد: بررسی ها نشان می دهد که در زمان پیک، 13 تا 18 هزار مگاوات از برق مصرفی مربوط به سامانه های سرمایشی است که از این میزان سه هزار مگاوات مربوط به سامانه های سرمایشی ساختمان های اداری است که عامل اصلی پیک ظهر گاهی شبکه برق کشور شده است.
مجری طرح های بهینه سازی مصرف انرژی سازمان بهره وری انرژی ایران، تصریح کرد: عامل اصلی پیک ظهرگاهی، استفاده بیش از حد از سامانه های سرمایشی بخصوص کولرهای گازی است.وی درباره شرایط لازم برای استفاده از کولرهای گازی، گفت: متأسفانه در حال حاضر ساختمان های اداری در استان های واقع در اقلیم خشک کشور به استفاده از کولر گازی رو آورده اند که عامل اصلی پیک شبکه سراسری برق کشور شده اند.
وی تصریح کرد: در همین راستا مصوبه ای از هیات وزیران به شماره 94035/ت42400 مورخ هشتم مردادماه سال 88 صادر شده که بند 4 آن استفاده از کولر گازی در اقلیم خشک با رطوبت نسبی کمتر از 30 درصد را ممنوع کرده است.توکلی ادامه داد: طبق بند 4 مصوبه فوق وزارتخانه های نیرو، امور اقتصادی و دارایی، بازرگانی، صنایع و معادن، مو ظفند که به نحوی برنامه ریزی نماید که از واردات لوازم و تجهیزات برقی ازجمله کولرهای گازی با رتبه پایین تر از A و B به کشور جلوگیری به عمل آید.وی ادامه داد: طبق بند 8 این مصوبه از تاریخ ابلاغ این تصویب نامه وزارتخانه ها، سازمان ها و شرکت های دولتی مجاز به نصب چیلرهای تراکمی در ساختمان های خود نیستند و در صورت نیاز به سامانه های تهویه مطبوع مکلفند از چیلرهای جذبی استفاده کنند.توکلی با بیان اینکه شرایط و استانداردهای مورد نیاز ساختمان های دولتی به سامانه های سرمایشی از طریق وزارت مسکن و شهرسازی ظرف شش ماه تدوین و ابلاغ شده است، اضافه کرد: نصب و استفاده از کولرهای گازی جدید برای دستگاه های دولتی در مناطقی که میزان رطوبت نسبی آن ها در تابستان کمتر از 30درصد بوده، از تاریخ ابلاغ این تصویب نامه ممنوع است.

معاون آموزش و بهینه ‏سازی مصرف انرژی سازمان بهره وری انرژی ایران گفت با ابلاغ تعرفه ‏های خرید تضمینی برق از نیروگاه ‏های تجدید پذیر و پاک، تولید برق از طریق بازیافت حرارت در صنایع برای سرمایه ‏گذاران بسیار اقتصادی و توجیه پذیر شده است.

  مهندس امیردودابی نژاد، معاون آموزش و بهینه‏ سازی مصرف انرژی سازمان بهره وری انرژی ایران گفت: بیش از 30 درصد از انرژی حرارتی مصرف شده در صنایع از طرق مختلف بدون استفاده تلف  می­شود که با توجه به حجم بالای این تلفات، بحث بازیافت حرارت اتلافی در صنایع به عنوان راهکاری موثر جهت بهره­ برداری مناسب از منابع انرژی مطرح شده است.وی افزود از جمله مهم ­ترین کاربردهای این منبع انرژی، علاوه بر استفاده در پیشگرمکن­ها، آب گرم مصرفی، استفاده از آن برای تولید برق است. در فرآیند تولید صنایعی مانند سیمان، شیشه، فولاد و ... پتانسیل بالایی برای تولید برق از طریق بازیافت حرارت وجود دارد. بنابراین ، لازم است توجه ویژه ­ای به این بحث درکشور شود. در کلیه خطوط تولید سیمان حتی در یک خط بهینه تولید سیمان، مقدار قابل ملاحظه­ ای انرژی حرارتی از طریق گازهای گرم خروجی از پیشگرمکن و خنک­کن­های کلینکر تلف می­شود. بنابراین بازیافت این حرارت اتلافی برای تولید برق می­تواند بسیار کارا باشد.

معاون آموزش و بهینه‏ سازی مصرف انرژی سابا افزود 65تا 75 درصد از انرژی مصرف شده در صنعت سیمان از نوع حرارتی است. حدود 40 درصد از کل انرژی حرارتی به صورت گازهای گرم خروجی از پیش­گرمکن (300 تا 400 درجه سانتیگراد) و کولر (200 تا 300 درجه سانتیگراد) تلف می­شود.وی ادامه داد در سال­ های اخیر تعداد زیادی از کارخانجات سیمان در نقاط مختلف دنیا (به خصوص کشورهای آسیای شرقی) اقدام به احداث نیروگاه­ های تولید برق از بازیافت حرارت اتلافی Generation) Heat Recovery Power Waste) در کارخانه­ های خود  کرده­ اند.

این نوع نیروگاه با استفاده از گازهای داغ خروجی و اتلافی فرآیند، امکان تولید بیش از 30 درصد از برق مورد نیاز کارخانه را دارد.معاون آموزش و بهینه ‏سازی مصرف انرژی سابا هزینه نسبتا بالای سرمایه­گذاری طرح مذکور و همچنین نرخ خرید برق تضمینی را علت اجرایی نشدن این طرح علیرغم مزایای فراوان آن در گذشته دانست و ‏ افزود با ابلاغ تعرفه ‏های خرید تضمینی برق از نیروگاه‏ های تجدید پذیر و پاک توسط وزیر محترم نیرو، توسعه این نوع از نیروگاه‏ها در کشور تسهیل شده و از منظر هزینه فایده برای سرمایه‏ گذار اقتصادی خواهد بود. وی ضمن پیش‏بینی نرخ خرید 3050 ریالی به ازای هر کیلووات ساعت برق تولیدی این نوع از نیروگاه‏ ها درمصوبه اخیر، ادامه داد با توجه به اینکه صنعت سیمان به عنوان یکی از صنایع زیربنایی و استراتژیک کشور، بیش از 12 درصد مصرف انرژی الکتریکی بخش صنعت کشور (حدود 4 درصد از کل انرژی الکتریکی مصرف شده در کشور) را به خود اختصاص داده است، اجرای این طرح در این کارخانه ­ها، می­تواند به کاهش تقاضای برق در کشور کمک شایانی کند و طبق بررسی ­ها و مطالعات انجام شده، پتانسیل تولید برق با استفاده از این روش تنها در کارخانه­های سیمان کشور، بیش از 300 مگاوات برآورد می­ گردد.

گروه فناوری: شرکت نروژی سینتف (SINTEF) قصد دارد با استفاده از نانوذرات در مواد ساختمانی، کارایی ساختمان‌ها را در کاهش مصرف انرژی و تولید انرژی افزایش دهد.بخش ساختمانی مسئول ۴۰ درصد از مصرف انرژی در جهان است که در واقع موجب نشر گاز دی‌اکسیدکربن می‌شود.
در آینده نزدیک می‌توان با استفاده از مواد ساختمانی ویژه، سهم بخش ساختمان را از انتشار گازهای گلخانه‌ای کاهش داد. مواد جدید می‌توانند انرژی کمتری مصرف کرده و آلایندگی را به شدت کاهش دهند.محققان شرکت نروژی سینتف (SINTEF) قصد دارند از نانوذرات برای ساخت عایق‌های ساختمانی استفاده کنند. این نانوذرات می‌توانند با اعمال ولتاژ مانع از تشکیل یخ یا برف روی شیشه شوند. پترا روتر، از محققان ارشد این شرکت، گفت: راهبردی که در حال حاضر در سینتف اجرا می‌شود، ارائه مواد پیشرفته برای تولید زیرساخت‌ها و ساختمان‌ها است به طوری که صنایع ساختمانی بتوانند عملکرد وکارایی ساختمان‌ها را بهبود دهند.
این گروه تحقیقاتی موفق به تولید عایق جدیدی با استفاده از نانوذرات شده‌اند. تیلست، از محققان این پروژه، می‌گوید: «هدف ما تولید مواد ساختمانی با هدایت گرمایی پایین است. زمانی که مواد سازنده عایق به هم چسبیده باشند گرما به راحتی منتقل می‌شود اما وجود حفره این روند را دستخوش تغییر می‌کند. با کاهش ابعاد حفره در عایق مقدار هدایت آن نیز کاهش می‌یابد. در حالی که مواد عایق استاندارد نظیر پشم‌های معدنی رسانایی ۳۵ میلی‌وات در هر متر را دارند، این رقم در عایق جدید ۲۰ میلی‌وات در هر متر است. محققان معتقداند که در آینده عملکرد این عایق بهبود یافته و ضخامت آن کاهش می‌یابد.
در آینده نزدیک وجود پیل‌های خورشیدی در ساختمان رواج خواهد یافت. هر چند در نروژ شب‌های طولانی زمستانی وجود دارد اما در کشورهایی نظیر انگلستان و آلمان آفتاب به قدر کافی وجود دارد. بنابراین می‌توان وجود پیل‌های خورشیدی یک مزیت بزرگ است. این گروه تحقیقاتی به دنبال استفاده از پیل‌های خورشیدی در بدنه ساختمان‌ها هستند تا به شکل مؤثری کارایی ساختمان افزایش یافته و انتشار گازهای گلخانه‌ای کاهش یابد.
